Standing on Guard for Kingsburg

There is a neighbour on Beach Hill Road, despite having been there for over a decade, few people know much about. But Tracy Westell, who lived on Beach Hill Road for years, knows a bit about our very own ‘Sam Steele’.

The residents of Beach Hill are a creative bunch and one year they built and painted the Mountie as a surprise for the community. It wasn’t the only surprise they created, one year a group of neighbours, kids included, created wonderful wooly sheep and scattered them on a neighbours lawn in time for their spring arrival. Over the years there have been any number of projects, all wonderful, artistic surprises for everyone.

A recent revamp of Sam meant a fresh coat of paint and the addition of an ever loyal, black Labrador retriever.

Our mountie and their loyal dog, once stored for the winter, have now taken up permanent residence on the corner of Beach Hill Road and stand on guard for all.
