Polar Bear Dip 2024

Despite temperatures hovering just below 0°, about 40 Kingsburgers‘ and their friends ventured out to Hirtle’s Beach for the annual dip - an opportunity to clear the cobwebs from the previous evenings celebrations and to welcome the coming year.

A strong surf this year forced about 20 brave souls to dip in at Hirtle’s Pond, instead of the ocean; while others supervised from dry land. To ensure everyone got home safely Wanda and Greg came prepared with a defibrillator as well as hot chocolate and cookies to warm up after the chilly dip.

Three dogs were in attendance - but did not feel compelled to join in the fun.
