Poetry Circle
OCTOBER 2022
Every Friday night at 7:00pm, those interested in poetry can be found around a bonfire in front of the barn at the intersection of Mosher Road and Kingsburg Road. Poetry Circle is hosted by Kingsburg resident, Sean Kennedy, Professor of English, and Coordinator of Irish Studies at Saint Mary’s University in Halifax.
Poetry Circle opens with Sean skilfully reading a poem of his choice, followed by a discussion of form and content. Participants can also read a poem if they wish. The poems read are well known or obscure, from the present day or the past, and are on a wide variety of themes. It is just what people choose to read, if anything. Poetry Circle closes, within the hour, by Sean reading a final poem.
All are welcome to attend. Just turn up. There will be a chair for you. The circle runs through the winter. Contact Seán at sean.kennedy@smu.ca for details of the weekly circle.
