KCA Community FireSmart Event a Success

June 14, 2025
36 residents, along with Deputy Fire Chief Candice Dares, members of the Riverport Fire Department and Mayor Elspeth McLean-Wile came together to work towards reducing the wildfire risk in Kingsburg.

KCA shared an overview of the FireSmart program, reviewed last year's FireSmart community assessments and discussed action plan and next steps - including a civic address plate audit and planning individual property assessments to better protect homes from wildfire risk.  Riverport Fire Department brought out one of their trucks and provided discussion on road access and logistical challenges fire departments can have when responding to fires in the area.

If you are interested in making your property more wildfire resilient with a FireSmart Assessment of your property, please register by July 26th.
