Rhodos, Rhodo’s Everywhere!

More than a dozen “rhodo” enthusiasts joined the Rhododendron Garden tour in Bayport as organized by the Membership and Engagement Committee.

KCA members were guided by owners Diane Chisholm and Chris Cooper on a two-hour walking tour; enjoying rhododendrons, azaleas, magnolias, primula and endless lush greenery – truly a visual feast!  At times the group were walking under clouds of colourful and unique rhodo blooms.

The owners shared the fascinating history of the gardens which were established by Captain Dick Steele in the 70s; the “Captain” propagated plants and operated a nursery at the site for many years and Diane and Chris are working hard to maintain this property of more than 40 acres.
