Quilts for Nova Scotia

June 2020
Following the tragedy in Portapique, Nova Scotia in April of 2020 the Maritime Modern Quilt Guild in Halifax initiated a quilt drive, inviting quilters to make quilts to support families of victims as well as first responders and hospital staff who were affected.

Within 9 weeks 438 quilts (many inspired by the Nova Scotia flag colours of blue and white) had been sent from coast to coast across North America, including at least two from Kingsburg.

This photo was taken just prior to the quilts leaving Kingsburg last June.
