Hirtle Beach Make Over
MAY 2024
If you have been down to Hirtles’ Beach recently you will have noticed that there has been significant work done in the parking lot.
According Trudy Payne, Director Recreation, Parks & Tourism the boardwalk was removed due to safety concerns and gravelled pathways installed for pedestrian use. Installing barriers or stops for vehicles is not part of the budget this year. Accessibility upgrades are scheduled in the 2025-2026 fiscal year capital plan which begins April 1, 2025, to March 31, 2026, which includes delineating the parking to separate from the walking paths. Benches and trash bins will be re-installed this year.
Many will be disappointed to lose the boardwalk and the memories of family, friends and pets; originally an initiative of the Riverport and District Board of Trade.
