Paw Paw’s in Lunenburg County

Located in Front Centre, Lunenburg County's Exotic Fruit Nursery has only been in operation since the early 2020's, but what a story it is that they have to tell! Their story of adventure and how they came to be raising exotics in this part of the world was worth the price of admission itself. 

About a dozen residents of Kingsburg gathered at Annette Clarke's 33 acre property on a recent Sunday to experience the greenhouses, outdoor orchards, fields, ponds and grounds of this unique operation. Our detailed tour of the greenhouses then led to an examination of our host's unique "small house" (complete with Tiffany style glass collection!) as the penultimate experience before a wrap up tea and exotic fruit tasting. 

The tour expanded our knowledge of gardening and through the use of greenhouses Annette has exposed Lunenburg County to types of exotic fruit that in the past had to be imported to our community, with such importation contributing to our collective carbon footprint. 

Tours are available throughout the year. In addition, Annette operates a gift shop, sells plants, provides instruction and workshops, seasonally sells her harvest at the Lunenburg farmers market, and, she will soon be setting up a farm stand at her property. — Alexander MacDonald
