Canada Day in Riverport

JULY 01, 2024
Another successful Canada Day for the Riverport Fire Department and community; our sources tell us the numbers for the Fish Fry and Strawberry Shortcake were up from last year.

A significant change this year was how a wider community came together. In addition to the RFD, the Riverport Community Centre, the Church, Old Confidence Lodge, and Food Vibes got involved with games, hot dogs, strawberry shortcake, a food truck, concerts, vendors market and of course the parade.

Sarah and her team at Coastal Roots took first place in the historically themed and always popular parade, with Tim Wentzel and Times Past taking second place and Robert Niford and Wooden Ships coming in third.

The weather postphoned the fireworks until July 13, weather and fire bans permitting, so there is still fun to be had.

The RFD is an invaluable part of our community and our Members are happy to support them in their many endeavours throughout the year.
