A Dream Come True

Sarah Mossman, whose family has lived in Upper Kingsburg for over 5 generations realized her dream when she opened Coastal Roots Greenhouse & Garden this spring.

Sarah grew up participating in 4-H. After completing a Plant Science diploma at the Dalhousie Agricultural College, then working in various local nurseries, Sarah wanted to go on her own, close to home. With the help of her parents, Lisa and Stephen, Sarah opened her doors to the public.

When you visit the greenhouse, which is next door to her great grandparents home where Sarah now lives, you will find annual flowers, perennials, veggie transplants, herbs and some garden supplies. Sarah’s goal is to expand into a larger operation with more perennials, shrubs, a farmers market and giftware store.

Sarah has great family support, on any given day you will find her mom and grandmother helping out with the planting and you might catch her partner Rogan and her dad helping with various building projects.
