join the kcc in their guided walks this saturday, July 21!


The KCC is hosting two guided walks this Saturday. Please meet at the Hirtles Beach parking lot for both walks.

Renowned birder, James Hirtle, is doing a walk starting at 9:30am.

At 1pm, South Shore author, historian, and geologist, David Mossman, will  do a walk on Hirtle's beach and talk about his upcoming book on Gladee's Canteen.

Don't forget!

David Mossman will be speaking at our community potluck on Wednesday, August 1. Potluck starts at 6pm at the Riverport Community Centre. Everyone is welcome!


Duckworth Real Estate Concerts and Lectures Series

THIS YEAR DUCKWORTH REAL ESTATE  DECIDED TO HIGHLIGHT SEAN KENNEDY’S LECTURE SERIES. ALL LECTURES ARE FREE AS PART OF THE ST. MARY’S UNIVERSITY EFFORTS IN BROADENING OUT TO THE COMMUNITY.  LECTURES ARE FREE

WE ARE HAVING THREE  CONCERTS - RENDEZVOUS QUARTET (FROM CANADA, CUBA AND SPAIN),  ARIANA NASR AND JEREMY THORPE BACK AFTER POPULAR REQUEST AND STEVE NORMANDIN FROM FRANCE - ANOTHER MULTI-TALENTED INSTRUMENTALIST AND SINGER.  CONCERTS ARE $20.00

FOR THOSE INTERESTED IN CYCLING:

WOMEN’S RIDE DAY, SUNDAY, MAY 27th, 10am

The 6th annual Women’s Ride Day, hosted by Sweet Ride Cycling, will depart the public parking lot on Sunday, May 27th at 10am. This is a FREE EVENT, for women of all ages and abilities (12yrs and up*), a leisurely 17km ride along the Bay to Bay Trail, Prince’s Inlet, Sunnybrook and Mader’s Cove, back to Mahone Bay, returning by noon. A hybrid, comfort hybrid or mountain bike would be suitable for this ride. Come and meet old friends and find new riding pals too.

WOMEN’S SATURDAY MORNING RIDES, June 2nd - 30th8am 

Following the kick—off Women’s Ride, Rosemary MacEachen will once again, lead Women’s Saturday morning rides during the month of June at 8am from the Pharmasave Parking Lot in Mahone Bay. These rides will also be similar in length (17 to 21km) and will be on a mixed surface of trail and road.
